From Rapid City Regional Airport, take I-90 W toward Sturgis. Take Exit 30 (Sturgis/Deadwood) and follow SD-34/US-85 into Deadwood. Turn onto Main Street, where Historic Franklin Hotel sits at the top of the hill. This is the fastest and most direct route, about an hour drive.
For a more scenic option, follow I-90 W past Sturgis to Exit 14 (Spearfish), then take US-14A through Spearfish Canyon into Lead and Deadwood. This route adds a few extra minutes but winds through one of the most beautiful drives in the Black Hills before arriving on Main Street near the hotel.
